PORK DUMPLING
INGREDIENTS
200 grams flour
120 milliliters water
200 grams ground pork
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground ginger
½ bunch of green onions, chopped
½ bunch of chinese chive, chopped
120 grams cabbage, chopped
1 tablespoon oil
PREPARATION
Add the flour to a bowl. Pour the water over the flour, and gently mix.
Using your hands, knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and rest for at least 5 minutes at room temperature.
For the filling, in a medium bowl, add ground pork, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, ginger, green onion, chinese chive, and cabbage, and combine and mix until evenly incorporated.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Use your hands to flatten each portion of dough into a disk. Place a spoonful of filling into the center of the dough. Pinch the top a couple times to close the bun and slightly flatten.
Heat the oil in a medium frying pan over high heat. Add 3 of the dumplings at a time, seam side down, and cook for 1 minute, until lightly browned.
Flip the dumplings and use a spatula to flatten.
Cover with a lid and cook for 4 minutes.
Flip the dumplings over, cover and cook for 4 minutes.
Enjoy!
